What’s This Role About?
As a Display Assistant (Driver), you will be responsible for moving display equipment to different stores, setting up, and then dismantling everything after. Whether it’s for store events, special promotions, or new store openings, you’ll be an essential part of ensuring Shoprite’s displays and promotional materials are on point.
Your responsibilities will include:
Transporting and Setting Up Displays: You will collect equipment from suppliers and deliver it to different stores or event locations. After delivery, you’ll set up the displays for in-store promotions and outdoor posters, and break them down when no longer needed.
Event Preparation: You will manage setups for events, including collecting branded gazebos, flyers, and posters, and ensuring everything is in place for a smooth presentation.
Poster Management: In stores, you will hang new posters, fix damaged ones, and prepare fresh inserts for promotional frames. Outside, you will be responsible for setting up large sales posters at new or revamped stores.
Vehicle Responsibility: You will also take care of the vehicle used for deliveries, ensuring it’s well-maintained and operated efficiently.
What Do You Need? To apply for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
Driver’s License: A valid Code 8 driver’s license is mandatory.
Grade 12 Certificate: A high school qualification is required.
PDP License: While not essential, having a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) will be an advantage.
Physical Fitness: Since this role involves setting up displays and transporting equipment, you need to be physically fit and capable of handling the workload.
Communication Skills: You must be well-spoken, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with suppliers.
Weekend Availability: This role may require you to work on weekends and public holidays.
