What’s the YES Programme All About?

The Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme is a fixed-term, full-time initiative designed to give young South Africans valuable work experience while building technical and personal skills that are crucial in today’s job market.

At Siemens Healthineers, the 2025 YES Programme offers you the opportunity to work as a Customer Service Engineer Trainee. You’ll be based in either East London or George, South Africa, and will gain experience supporting high-end medical equipment used in diagnostics, imaging, and healthcare services.

Your Role – What You’ll Be Doing

Under close guidance and supervision, you’ll be responsible for:

Helping with the installation, maintenance, and servicing of medical equipment and healthcare systems.
Supporting clients both remotely and onsite, solving technical issues as they come up.
Assisting in upgrading internal tools, databases, and systems.
Participating in planning and reviewing technical projects and helping estimate the time and resources needed.
Possibly getting involved in technical design and development of new service offerings.
Working alongside contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery of services.
Learning and applying Siemens’ best practices in service processes to keep everything running efficiently.
Joining ongoing training programs including online learning, practical work, and knowledge sharing sessions with your team.

This role mainly supports clients in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, but you could also be asked to travel to other regions when needed.

Do You Qualify? Here’s What You Need

To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following basic requirements:

A Diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Clinical Engineering.
A valid driver’s license.
Having your own car is a plus, but not required.
You must be open to working overtime, including on weekends and public holidays.
Must be a South African citizen.
You should also be a high performer with strong thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
