Standard Bank Learnership 2025 Now Open – R6,800 Monthly Stipend!

Standard Bank, one of South Africa’s most respected financial institutions, is offering an exciting Call Centre Learnership Programme for 2025.

This learnership gives young people aged 18 to 30 the chance to gain real work experience, complete a formal banking qualification, and earn R6,800 per month — all at the same time. If you are eager to kickstart your career in banking, keep reading.


What is This Learnership About?

This isn’t just any learnership. It’s a full 12-month programme designed to give you everything you need to succeed in the banking world. You’ll work in a voice branch environment (a call centre), where you’ll help customers, solve problems, and learn how banks really operate behind the scenes.

You’ll also study toward a Certificate in Banking (NQF Level 5), which will help you become FAIS-accredited. This qualification opens doors for more job opportunities across the financial sector in South Africa.

The learnership runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. By the time you finish, you’ll have both experience and a recognised certificate in your pocket.


What You’ll Learn and Do

During your time at Standard Bank, you’ll be trained and guided by experienced professionals. You will:

  • Learn how a call centre (Voice Branch) operates in a big bank
  • Build excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Learn how to handle and solve customer queries
  • Understand South Africa’s banking and financial regulations
  • Process and analyse banking information
  • Build relationships with clients and your team
  • Practice professional telephone and email communication
  • Respond to clients’ needs quickly and professionally

This hands-on training will not only improve your knowledge but also give you the confidence to grow in your career.


What You Need to Qualify

To apply, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be between 18 and 30 years old
  • Have completed an undergraduate qualification (degree or diploma)
  • Must not be permanently employed anywhere
  • Must not be studying at any other institution
  • Must not be part of another learnership or internship
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have no more than 6 months of work experience

This programme is ideal for someone who recently finished university and wants to start building a career in banking with support, guidance, and a solid qualification.
