TB HIV Care Invites Youth to Apply for Learner Support Agent (LSA) Jobs – 2025 Vacancies Now Open (X3 Posts). The closing date for applications is 19 July 2025.

If you’re young, passionate about helping others, and want to make a real change in your community, TB HIV Care wants you on their team. They are offering exciting Learner Support Agent (LSA) job opportunities for 2025 in the Tsolo area, OR Tambo District. This is part of the PPPrev Programme, which focuses on HIV prevention, especially for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).

TB HIV Care is one of South Africa’s top health-focused non-profit organisations. They’ve been around since 1929, helping people fight both TB and HIV. Their services are known for being people-centered and community-focused, especially in areas where HIV and TB rates are high. Now, they’re giving young people between the ages of 18 and 35 a chance to join their mission and gain work experience in the health field.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Learner Support Agent (LSA)

Your main job as an LSA will be to support and educate youth in your community about HIV prevention. This includes helping girls and young women learn about services like PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), which helps prevent HIV. You’ll work directly with young people in schools, clinics, and communities—sharing knowledge, giving support, and encouraging health-focused habits.

Other duties include:

  • Talking to and educating youth about HIV, human rights, gender-based violence, and healthy choices.
  • Helping people access HIV prevention services, including screening and referrals.
  • Creating youth care clubs and safe spaces where young people can ask questions and learn more.
  • Mapping out “hotspot” areas in the community where HIV support is most needed.
  • Keeping accurate records, attending training sessions, and reporting to your supervisor regularly.

This is a real hands-on job where your voice and effort will make a difference every day.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to anyone who:

  • Has at least Grade 12 (Matric) or TVET Level 2, or even Grade 10 with 1 year experience in HIV-related work.
  • Is between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Can speak and understand English and IsiXhosa (other South African languages are a bonus).
  • Is confident talking to others and has a passion for helping people.
  • Has some HIV counselling experience or a valid driver’s license (both are nice-to-haves, not musts).

What Makes You the Right Fit?

The best candidates are those who:

  • Communicate clearly and confidently with others.
  • Are passionate about health, youth development, and education.
  • Can work both alone and in a team.
  • Know how to solve problems, organise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Are comfortable using computers and mobile apps for reporting.
  • Want to grow personally while also helping their community.

If you’ve done community work, youth support, or HIV awareness, this role is perfect for you.

Why You Should Apply

This is not just a job—it’s a stepping stone into a career in public health, social work, or community leadership. You’ll be trained and guided by professionals who have years of experience in HIV prevention and youth programmes. The TB HIV Care team is friendly, supportive, and truly believes in the power of young people to change the world.

You won’t just learn about health—you’ll learn about yourself, your abilities, and your potential. Many past LSAs have gone on to grow their careers in NGOs, clinics, and government programmes.

Whether you’re a school leaver, someone waiting to study further, or just looking for your first real job, this could be the break you’ve been waiting for.
