Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this opportunity, you must:

  • ✅ Be aged 18 to 29 years old.
  • ✅ Have Matric (preferred, but not always required).
  • ✅ Be unemployed and willing to work on a 12-month fixed contract.
  • ✅ Not have worked permanently for one employer for more than 1 year.
  • ✅ Not be studying full time from September 2025 – August 2026.
  • ✅ Not have participated in the YES Programme before.
  • ✅ Live in or near these areas: Tembisa, Bredell, Kempton Park.
  • ✅ Be responsible for your own accommodation and transport.

Key Responsibilities

As a Distribution Centre Associate, your main duties will include:

  • Delivering customer orders correctly and on time.
  • Assisting customers with collections.
  • Assembling and preparing customer items.
  • Handling paperwork and ensuring proof of delivery (POD) is signed.
  • Loading and offloading goods.
  • Receiving, quality checking, and storing stock.
  • Picking stock for customer orders.
  • Performing stock counts and cycle counts.
  • Handling customer returns with proper wrapping and labeling.
  • Assisting with quality checks and repairs on customer items.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organisation.
  • Counting tools and managing their issuing.

This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a customer-first attitude.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric certificate (essential; a tertiary qualification is an advantage).
  • Experience in customer service is beneficial.
  • Experience in warehousing or distribution centres is a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and put in extra hours when needed.

Skills Needed

  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Good communication and writing ability.
  • Ability to manage customer value and provide excellent service.
