Work Location

These Cleaning Manager roles are based in the Cape Region, where you’ll be working across multiple sites.

This means you must be someone who can manage pressure, move between sites when needed, and make sure every site meets the required cleaning standards.


What You’ll Be Doing (Key Duties)

As a Cleaning Manager, your main role is to make sure the cleaning operations run smoothly every day. You won’t only supervise cleaning staff — you will also handle clients, stock, inspections, and staff performance.

1) Managing Cleaning Teams

You will be responsible for:

  • Supervising cleaners and team leaders at site
  • Making sure staff performance is good
  • Checking attendance and punctuality daily
  • Making sure teams follow cleaning schedules

A cleaning site can fail quickly when staff are absent or not working properly, so leadership is a big part of this position.

2) Client Relationship Management

You will need to:

  • Build good relationships with clients
  • Communicate professionally
  • Solve site issues quickly before they become serious
  • Make sure the service keeps the client happy

If the client is not satisfied, contracts can be lost — so your service must stay excellent.

3) Managing Cleaning Materials and Stock

You will handle stock such as:

  • Cleaning chemicals
  • Toilet paper, soap, sanitiser
  • Equipment and PPE
  • Site supplies

You must ensure stock levels are monitored and replenished on time so work never stops.

4) Labour Planning and Scheduling

Tsebo uses labour management systems like PRP, so you will:

  • Plan staff shifts
  • Schedule labour correctly for the site needs
  • Make sure staff numbers match operational requirements
  • Avoid overstaffing or understaffing

5) HR and Staff Issues

You’ll be expected to deal with HR matters such as:

  • Discipline
  • Grievances
  • Performance management
  • Staff behaviour and complaints

This means you need confidence, fairness, and the ability to follow proper processes.

6) Site Inspections and SLA Compliance

A big part of management is quality checks. You will:

  • Conduct regular site inspections
  • Check compliance with SLA requirements
  • Identify and fix hygiene gaps
  • Make sure Tsebo meets quality standards daily

7) Supporting Contract Retention

This role is also about keeping the contract strong by:

  • Maintaining service quality
  • Ensuring client satisfaction
  • Keeping audits and reports ready
  • Improving site performance

Skills and Competencies Needed

Tsebo is looking for someone who understands the cleaning industry and can lead with professionalism.

You should have:

  • Strong knowledge of cleaning processes and hygiene standards
  • Understanding of SLAs and how to follow them
  • Ability to conduct audits and inspections
  • Basic HR and labour legislation understanding
  • MS Excel knowledge and reporting skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks without losing control

Qualifications and Experience Required

To qualify, you need:

Minimum Qualification

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Compulsory)

Added Advantage (Recommended)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as:
    • Degree
    • Diploma
    • Certificate
      In:
  • Retail
  • Operations
  • Retail Management
  • Or related field

Experience

You must have:

  • Proven experience in cleaning operations
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Managing multiple sites is a big advantage
