What Does a Merchandiser Do?

As a Merchandiser, you’ll be responsible for making the store look good, helping products sell faster, and giving customers a great experience.

Here’s what you’ll do every day:

Your Daily Responsibilities:

Stock Management: Count products, unpack stock, and keep track of items on the shelves.
Visual Merchandising: Set up eye-catching product displays that grab customer attention.
Product Maintenance: Make sure prices are correct, remove damaged or expired items, and ensure shelves are full and neat.
Teamwork: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to reach daily goals.
Customer Service: Help shoppers with product questions, complaints, or requests.
Cleanliness: Keep the store floor and storeroom tidy, clean, and safe.

This job is perfect for someone who loves being on their feet, solving problems quickly, and working with people.

What You Need to Get Started

You don’t need a degree or years of experience. If you meet the following basic requirements, you’re welcome to apply:

Minimum Requirements:

A Matric Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
A valid South African ID.
A SARS Letter and Bank Confirmation Letter.
A smartphone (with at least 10GB of space).
You must have a Vodacom SIM card (if selected for the role).
You must live within 15km of the job location.
A clear criminal record is required.

Preferred (but not required):

Experience in retail, sales, or merchandising.
Good spoken and written English.
Ability to work with teams and communicate clearly.
South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 65.

Even if you don’t have retail experience, you’ll be trained and supported through every step.
