What Will You Do as a General Worker?

As a General Worker, you will handle various tasks in a workshop setting. The job requires you to learn quickly on the spot and stay ready for different duties such as:

• Loading and unloading stock safely
• Keeping the workshop and surrounding areas clean and neat
• Helping customers and suppliers with stock handling, following company policies
• Assisting mechanics and technicians with repairs and maintenance
• Providing hand tools, parts, and materials to mechanics during their work
• Taking on extra duties as they come up, as part of your support role

What Skills and Requirements Do You Need?

To qualify, you must:

• Have a Grade 12 or an NQF4 qualification
• Hold a Code EB driver’s license (this is a must)
• Be able to do hard physical work, including moving heavy items
• Have some experience in a tractor workshop environment—this will be a big advantage
• Be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order
• Deliver excellent client service while working as part of the team
• Always look for ways to add value to your tasks

You should be accurate and careful in your work and have good health to keep up with the physical demands of the job.
