What You’ll Be Doing
As a Department Manager In Training, your main job is to provide excellent customer service and boost sales. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Sales Goals: Ensure your department meets its sales targets.
- Selling Strategies: Use the selling space, displays, layouts, and sales plans to maximize selling opportunities.
- Stock Management: Make sure the Clothing and Home stock processes are followed in your area.
- Shopkeeping: Keep your department organized and clean. This includes proper ticketing, arranging items, cleanliness, restocking, and maintaining product quality.
- Customer Experience: Ensure customers have a great shopping experience every time.
- Promotions: Maximize sales during promotions and special events.
- Risk Management: Complete weekly risk documentation.
- Stock Replenishment: Ensure stock is restocked on time.
- Department Activities: Implement and monitor all activities in your department.
- People Management: Manage your team, including staffing, performance, training, and employee relations.
- Shrinkage Control: Minimize and manage stock loss.
- Safety and Security: Follow all safety and security rules.
- Customer Queries: Handle customer complaints and questions.
What You Need to Apply
- Education: Matric or equivalent NQF level. A relevant tertiary qualification is a plus.
- Experience: 1-3 years of managerial experience in retail.
- Skills: Good with technology, understanding of stock management, and awareness of fashion, beauty, and home retail trends.
