As a cleaner at AFMS Group, your main role will be to ensure that offices, public areas, and facilities are always spotless, safe, and welcoming. You will work in different spaces such as offices, boardrooms, canteens, kitchens, toilets, passages, reception areas, and outdoor spaces. Your work will help create a positive impression for clients, visitors, and staff every single day.
Your daily duties will include vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing various areas. You will clean kitchen utensils and equipment, empty bins, wash towels, clean carpets, sanitize handrails, and disinfect frequently touched surfaces like door handles and taps. You’ll also take care of office furniture, windows, and stairs to make sure everything looks professional and clean.
In addition to daily cleaning, there are also weekly and monthly tasks. Weekly tasks may include washing kitchen cupboards, polishing door handles, disinfecting walls, and scrubbing non-carpeted floors. Monthly tasks may involve cleaning upholstered furniture such as couches and leather chairs to keep them in excellent condition. You’ll also perform daily spot cleaning to handle unexpected messes and maintain hygiene standards throughout the day.
Health and safety are very important at AFMS Group. Cleaners are expected to wear the right protective clothing and handle cleaning materials safely according to company guidelines. Following health and safety rules ensures your protection and helps maintain a safe environment for everyone in the building.
To qualify for this role, you need at least a Grade 10 education. You should also have previous cleaning experience, preferably in a corporate or commercial environment. Having a good understanding of hygiene practices, knowledge of cleaning products, and awareness of facility layouts will be beneficial. You must also be able to use a variety of cleaning equipment properly and safely.
AFMS Group is looking for someone who is self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented. You must be able to plan your tasks, work independently, and prioritize your duties effectively. The role also requires discipline, a proactive attitude, and the ability to focus on completing each task thoroughly. Since cleaners often interact with other staff and clients, good communication and people skills are also important.
In this role, you’ll be expected to understand your responsibilities clearly, follow instructions carefully, and ensure that the work you do meets the company’s standards. Providing feedback, working efficiently, and maintaining professionalism at all times are key parts of success in this position.
