📍 About the Role
As a Messenger/Cleaner at Ampath, your primary responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness in the laboratory, collecting specimens, delivering important reports to hospital wards and doctor’s rooms, and assisting the nursing staff with various tasks. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the lab and supporting the medical team in providing excellent healthcare services to clients.
🧹 Key Responsibilities
In this role, your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the laboratory clean and sanitary to ensure a safe and sterile environment for both staff and patients.
- Specimen Collection: Collect already gathered specimens and ensure they are safely transported to the necessary departments.
- Report Delivery: Deliver test results and reports to hospital wards, doctor’s offices, and other necessary locations.
- Assist Nursing Staff: Help with ad-hoc administrative tasks and support nursing staff with any extra duties as required.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain good relationships with clients to help promote a positive image of Ampath.
📝 Requirements for the Role
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) – mandatory.
- Knowledge of cleaning processes – You should be familiar with proper cleaning techniques to maintain hygiene standards.
- Must be able to work rotating day and night shifts.
- South African ID or a valid South African work permit is required.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
