CFW Industries Farm Supervisor (2IC) Vacancy

CFW Industries invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Farm Supervisor (2IC) Vacancy at Bakoorjakkalsdraai Farm. The closing date for applications has not been specified.

If you have experience working on a farm and feel ready to step into a leadership role, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. CFW Industries is looking for a hardworking and responsible Farm Supervisor who can help manage daily operations and support the team on the ground.

This is not just a basic farm job. You will be second-in-charge (2IC), meaning you will play a big role in making sure everything runs smoothly. If you enjoy working outdoors, leading others, and solving problems, this job could be a perfect fit.

What This Job Is About

As a Farm Supervisor, you will help manage the daily activities on the farm. You will work closely with management and guide general workers to make sure tasks are completed properly.

This role is ideal for someone who is both a leader and a doer. You won’t just give instructions—you will also be involved in the work yourself.

Your Main Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for both supervising staff and doing practical farm work.

Team Supervision

  • Leading and supervising general workers
  • Giving clear instructions for daily tasks
  • Monitoring work progress and performance
  • Reporting updates to management

Farm Maintenance and Operations

  • Keeping the farm clean, neat, and well-organised
  • Doing general gardening duties
  • Removing trees and controlling vegetation
  • Preparing soil by digging and ploughing using a tractor
  • Repairing pipes, fences, and other structures
  • Assisting with water pump operations

Equipment and Tools

  • Making sure all tools and equipment are working properly
  • Checking equipment regularly for faults
  • Helping with basic maintenance tasks

This job requires someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and take responsibility.

What You Need to Apply

CFW Industries is looking for someone who has real farming experience and can handle leadership responsibilities.

Here are the minimum requirements:

  • Proven experience in general farm work
  • Valid driver’s licence (very important, especially for tractor use)
  • Strong leadership and supervision skills
  • Good time management and organisation
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Physically fit and able to do manual work
  • Basic mechanical or maintenance knowledge
  • Basic computer skills (this is a bonus, not a must)

If you already have experience managing people or leading small teams, this will give you a strong advantage.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:00
  • Overtime may be required depending on farm needs

This schedule gives you a structured workweek, but you must be flexible when extra work is needed.

Skills and Personal Qualities Needed

To succeed in this role, you need more than just experience. Your attitude and work ethic matter a lot.

Here are the key qualities:

  • Responsible and dependable
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone and with a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail

Being someone who takes pride in their work will help you stand out.

Why You Should Apply

This job offers more than just a salary. It gives you a chance to grow and build a long-term career in farming.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Opportunity to become permanent
  • Stable and supportive work environment
  • Real responsibility and hands-on experience
  • Chance to develop leadership skills
  • Competitive pay based on your experience

If you are serious about building a future in agriculture, this is a strong step forward.

Work Environment

You will be working outdoors most of the time, dealing with different farm activities daily. The work can be physically demanding, but it is also rewarding if you enjoy practical tasks and seeing results from your efforts.

You will also be part of a team that depends on your leadership, so being reliable is very important.

Tips to Increase Your Chances

If you want to stand out, here are a few simple tips:

  • Highlight your farming experience clearly on your CV
  • Mention any leadership or supervisor roles you’ve had
  • Show that you can operate machinery like tractors
  • Prove that you are reliable and hardworking
  • Be ready to talk about how you solve problems

If you are ready to take the next step in your farming career and move into a leadership role, this opportunity could be exactly what you need. Jobs like this don’t come often, especially ones that offer growth and responsibility.
