Position: Road Worker (215 Posts)

  • Salary: R155,148 per annum (Level 03)

What You Need to Apply:

  • Qualifications: NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 certificate or equivalent).
  • Skills Required:
    • Basic job knowledge
    • Good communication skills
    • Teamwork and flexibility
    • Planning and organizing abilities
    • Computer literacy
    • Aptitude for numbers
    • Attention to detail and accuracy

Key Responsibilities:

As a Road Worker, your duties will include:

  • Building and maintaining culverts and side drains
  • Installing and maintaining steel guardrails and gabions
  • Handling road earthworks and layer construction
  • Cleaning roads, sidewalks, and resting areas
  • Patching potholes and maintaining road surfaces
  • Installing road signs, distance markers, and road markings
  • Clearing vegetation and cutting grass along roadways
  • Performing pipe laying and fence installations

Where You’ll Work:

The positions are spread across several regions, including:

  • Ladysmith Region (34 Posts)
  • Durban Region (155 Posts)
  • Metro, Stanger, Empangeni, and Pietermaritzburg Regions (26 Posts combined)

Each region offers specific roles across various maintenance and service teams, so you can apply for a post near you.
