About the CCTV Control Officer Role

The CCTV Control Officer position at Fidelity Security Group plays a very important role in keeping people, property, and operations safe. This job is not just about watching screens. It involves managing a control room, guiding staff, handling incidents, and making sure security procedures are followed at all times.

You will be working closely with Operations Managers, Shift Managers, and Assistant Control Room Managers. Because of this, the role requires maturity, discipline, and the ability to make good decisions under pressure.

What You Will Be Doing Every Day

As a CCTV Control Officer, your main duty is to ensure that the control room runs smoothly at all times. You will be expected to lead by example and make sure that all control room staff perform their duties correctly.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and supervising control room staff on duty
  • Monitoring CCTV systems and responding to incidents
  • Updating incident registers daily with accurate information
  • Ensuring discipline and professional conduct in the control room
  • Communicating with management and other security teams
  • Making sure security procedures and policies are followed
  • Handling emergency situations calmly and professionally

This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused for long hours, especially when working shifts.


Minimum Requirements You Must Meet

To qualify, you must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)
  • Grade A PSIRA registration (SOB), fully accredited
  • Traceable and contactable references
  • Your own reliable transport
  • Fire Fighting training
  • First Aid training
  • Computer skills, including MS Office and CCTV systems
  • At least two years’ experience in a security control room
  • The ability to speak and understand English clearly
  • No criminal record
  • A reputation for being reliable and trustworthy
