Educational Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric).
Security Certification: Valid PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) certificates.
Criminal Record: Clean criminal record.
Age Requirement: 18 – 35 years old.
As a Community Safety Officer, your role will involve:
Supporting Security Officers at access control points to ensure the security and safety of council premises.
Protecting and Securing Council Property: Conduct regular patrols to safeguard council premises, property, and personnel from criminal activities.
Patrolling with Law Enforcement Officers: Collaborate with law enforcement officers to monitor and enforce by-law compliance within the municipal jurisdiction and other council areas of interest.
Managing Access Control: Oversee access control by completing necessary registers and confirming appointments with visitors.
EPWP Nature: These positions are part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and are available for a limited contractual period of 9 months.
Suitability Checks: All selected candidates will undergo a suitability check, including criminal record and qualification verification.
Work Locations: Successful candidates must be willing to work in various geographical areas across the City of Polokwane’s council premises.
Employment Equity: Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups as per the Employment Equity Act and the council’s employment equity plan. Applicants are encouraged to specify their race, gender, and disability status.
