About the Job:

We’re on the hunt for talented and energetic individuals to join our team as Port Workers! As a Port Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and efficient working environment, handling cargo, and keeping our operations running smoothly. If you’re passionate about working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities:

Cleaning and maintaining equipment, including ship-to-shore cranes, rail wagons, and containers
Inspecting container conditions to ensure compliance with regulations
Monitoring reefer operations and reporting any issues
Opening and closing rail wagon twist-locks
Loading, off-loading, and slacking cargo in accordance with standard operating procedures
Hooking and unhooking cargo containers
Tarping and untarping cargo containers
Placing and removing dunnage (wooden or metal blocks used to secure cargo)
Cleaning operational areas, rail trucks, plant, workshops, offices, sheds, and ablution facilities
Completing accident reports and other relevant documentation
Identifying the correct cargo handling equipment and gear

You Might Also Like:

Requirements:

Grade 12 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience
Alternatively, Grade 10 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Knowledge of terminal layout, safety procedures, and stack positions
Strong attention to detail and a focus on cleanliness
Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
