About the Role:

As a Sewer Pump Station Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining sewer pump stations to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of wastewater. Your work will directly contribute to creating a healthy and sustainable environment by keeping our sewage systems running properly. This role requires dedication, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Taking handovers from previous shifts and signing the pump station register.
Recording pump readings, sump levels, and monitoring inlet/outlet valves.
Performing daily inspections of the pump stations and reporting any issues.
Cleaning and maintaining manual screens and the overall cleanliness of the station.
Reporting faulty equipment and ensuring the pumps are operating correctly.

Your role will be crucial in preventing sewage blockages, breakdowns, and environmental hazards, ensuring that our communities can enjoy a clean and safe environment.

Minimum Requirements to Apply:

Grade 12 Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
At least 1 year of experience in sewer pump station operations or a related field.
Must be physically and medically fit to handle the demands of the job.
Basic understanding of sewer pump stations, including rigging, valves, pressure, and flow principles.
