Job Description:
As a District Aide, you will be responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of pipelines, valves, and meters. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina and a willingness to work outdoors.
Your daily tasks may include:
- Pipeline Maintenance: Identifying and repairing leaks, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring the integrity of our pipeline systems.
- Valve and Meter Maintenance: Servicing and repairing valves and meters to ensure accurate measurement and efficient water flow.
- Groundskeeping: Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the worksite, including cleaning buildings and offices.
- Standby Duties: Participating in a standby rotation to respond to emergencies and ensure continuous water supply.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar maintenance or outdoor work environment.
- Technical Skills: Ability to perform basic maintenance on pipelines, valves, and meters. Familiarity with safety procedures and best practices.
- Physical Abilities: Capable of performing physical labor, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Other: Ability to ride a bicycle is a plus.
