About the Role:

As a Control Room Operator, your main responsibility will be to support our security department by monitoring and overseeing the protection of our sites. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that company procedures are followed and that any irregular activities are promptly reported. This position requires someone who is vigilant, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Vehicle Monitoring: Keep track of company vehicles and tracking devices to ensure they are operating as expected.
  • Incident Reporting: Compile daily reports on occurrences and notify relevant departments of any issues.
  • Activity Monitoring: Report any irregular activities and ensure that all site procedures are consistently applied.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with drivers and controllers, addressing reasons for route deviations, delays, and other concerns.
  • System Management: Respond promptly to system alerts, emails, and reports, and take appropriate action as needed.

What You’ll Need:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: A Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Certification: A Grade B PSIRA Certificate is required.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CCTV systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Company Knowledge: Familiarity with company rules and regulations, and the ability to consistently apply site procedures.
  • Leadership: The ability to train and discipline junior staff while maintaining a positive influence on the team.
  • Reporting: Sound report writing skills to document occurrences and incidents accurately.

Self-Motivation: You should be self-driven and have a strong willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures.

Trustworthiness: Honesty and the ability to handle sensitive information with integrity are crucial.


Pressure Handling: You must be able to work well under pressure and maintain good communication skills in challenging situations.

Leadership: You should be capable of motivating others and not easily influenced or intimidated.
