🔪 What You’ll Be Doing (Job Responsibilities)

As a General Assistant in the Butchery Department, you’ll help with meat preparation, packaging, and customer service to ensure our customers receive fresh, high-quality products.

🍖 Butchery & Food Prep:

✅ Help with cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products
✅ Weigh, label, and price meat correctly
✅ Make sure the meat display looks fresh and appealing

🧼 Cleaning & Hygiene:

✅ Keep the butchery area clean and sanitary (equipment, surfaces, floors)
✅ Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
✅ Properly store and handle meat to maintain freshness

📦 Stock & Inventory Control:

✅ Keep track of inventory and restock when needed
✅ Check deliveries for quality and accuracy
✅ Inform the supervisor of shortages or issues

🛍️ Customer Service & Sales:

✅ Provide friendly and helpful service to customers
✅ Answer questions and help customers choose the right meat products
✅ Suggest specials and promotions to boost sales

📜 What You Need to Apply (Minimum Requirements)

🎓 Qualifications:

✅ Matric (Grade 12) – Required

💼 Experience (Preferred but Not Required):

✅ Previous experience as a General Assistant or Blockman is a plus

🚨 Other Requirements:

✅ Must live within 15km of the store
✅ Clear criminal record
✅ Knowledge of food safety and hygiene guidelines – Advantageous
