About the Job

The Cashier’s main job is to manage cash and transactions accurately while providing excellent customer service. You will be responsible for facilitating the secure exchange of cash between guests, satellite stations, and other cash desk areas. This includes processing payments, exchanging chips and vouchers, managing floats, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

Your role is important because you help make sure the gaming floor runs smoothly and safely. You’ll also help identify and report any suspicious transactions to keep everything compliant with gaming regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing

Here’s a look at your main daily tasks as a Sun International Cashier:

• Prepare your work area: Ensure your station and equipment are ready before your shift starts. Check that everything is working properly and report any issues.
• Keep it clean: Maintain cleanliness in your work area and make sure it’s always ready for guests.
• Welcome guests: Greet customers warmly with a smile and ensure they feel valued from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.
• Handle transactions: Process all cash, chip, voucher, and smart card exchanges accurately and efficiently.
• Pay winnings: Calculate and execute player payouts correctly.
• Reconcile accounts: Complete daily reconciliations of treasury, cashier machines, and chip counts.
• Ensure accuracy: Conduct cash-ups at the end of each shift and report any differences in your float.
• Keep records: Record guest information and all transactions accurately for auditing purposes.
• Maintain professionalism: Treat every guest with respect and provide solutions for any complaints or queries.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Cashier role, you’ll need the following:

• Education: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience: Prior experience in a cashier or customer-facing position. Experience in the gaming or hospitality industry will be an advantage.
• Training: Successful completion of the Cashier Training School requirements (if applicable).

These requirements help ensure you’re confident in handling money, providing great service, and following proper gaming rules.
