What This Internship Offers

The Work Integrated Learner: HR Internship is designed to give graduates hands-on experience in Human Resources. As an intern in the Performance Services Department, you will support day-to-day HR activities and play a key role in administration, recruitment, and reporting.

This internship will help you apply what you learned in college while preparing you for the working world. You will also gain exposure to Discovery Health processes, learn how to work within strict service agreements, and develop your interpersonal and collaboration skills.


Key Responsibilities

As an HR Intern at Discovery, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Recruitment Administration – assisting with job adverts, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
  • HR Administration – maintaining employee records, handling onboarding documents, and supporting HR processes.
  • Reporting & Data Capturing – collecting, organizing, and managing HR-related data.
  • Filing – ensuring accurate and organized record-keeping.
  • Project Administration – supporting HR projects within the Performance Services team.
  • Ambassadorship – representing Discovery Health Performance Services in a professional and positive way.

Skills and Competencies Required

Minimum Requirements – Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Discovery HR Internship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric Certificate with at least 50% in English.
  • Completed N6 in Human Resources from a TVET College.
  • Qualification must have been completed within the last 18 months.
  • Must be available for the full internship duration.

This role is targeted at unemployed graduates seeking workplace experience in line with the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) requirements of their qualification.
