🕵️‍♂️ What Does a Surveillance Officer Do?

Your main role will be to watch over live footage of activities inside the Cash Centre, ensuring staff follow safety rules, policies, and proper access control. You’ll help prevent security breaches and make sure nobody who shouldn’t be inside is getting access to sensitive areas.

In short, you’re the eyes that keep the entire system secure.

📌 Key Responsibilities You’ll Handle:

Here’s what you’ll be doing during your shift:

• Watching live video footage of Cash Centre staff to make sure everyone follows correct procedures.
• Checking access control—no unauthorized person should enter or exit the Cash Centre.
• Confirm that all searches of personnel and their belongings are done correctly.
• Make sure the inside door is always locked, with the key secured by the senior person on duty.
• Watch over daily cleaning processes to ensure nothing is missed or hidden.
• Monitor waste removal procedures—every item leaving the building needs to be checked.
• Report anything suspicious immediately to the manager, especially if it poses a cash loss or security risk.
• Ensure that all work areas, especially under desks, are clutter-free before each shift.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric certificate (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4.
• 2+ years of experience in a Cash Centre environment.
• A clear criminal record is mandatory.
• Must be physically fit and capable of working long hours or night shifts.
• Must be computer literate.
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Must be willing to work under pressure and stay focused.
• Must be a team player and follow instructions exactly.
• Must be honest, reliable, and in good health.
