What Does a VIP Security Officer Do?

As a VIP Security Officer, your main job is to keep people safe and secure. Whether it’s watching through surveillance cameras, walking around the area, or checking for anything suspicious—you’ll be the first line of defense. You will help prevent theft, stop problems before they start, and make sure everyone feels safe.

Minimum Requirements to Apply

To get started, here’s what you need:

You must be registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority).
Have some experience in security or a similar job.

Bonus if you have:

A valid driver’s license (though not required, it’s a plus).

Your Daily Duties as a VIP Security Officer

You’ll be responsible for:

Arriving 15 minutes before the branch opens.
Making sure the branch is secure before doors open.
Walking around the premises to spot anything unusual.
Staying alert at all times, especially when the branch opens or closes.
Checking that all safety equipment (like radios and panic buttons) is working properly.
Searching guests and staff when they come in.
Making sure male VIPs scan male guests and female VIPs scan female guests.
Controlling how many cars and people enter or leave the branch.
Helping when stock arrives, during alarm tests, and writing daily reports by 10:00am.
Assisting with end-of-day procedures to limit risks.

Guest Service is Key

As a VIP Officer, you are the first person guests see. You need to:

Greet guests with a smile and say, “Good day, welcome to Hollywood.”
Be polite, helpful, and respectful.
Solve guest problems kindly and professionally.
Create a happy, safe space where guests feel valued.
Say goodbye and invite guests to come back: “Goodbye Sir, please come again.”

Following Rules is Important

You must:

Wear your full uniform (black shoes, white vest, etc.) with your name badge.
Never let anyone under 18 into the branch.
Never allow alcohol unless the branch has a liquor license.
Not accept tips from guests.
Not use your phone, eat, or smoke while on duty.
Never sleep, abandon your post, or come to work drunk.
Always be honest and respectful.
