  • Collecting samples used for water quality monitoring and ensuring proper handling.
  • Preparing media, reagents, chemicals, and samples for testing in various laboratory areas.
  • Performing analytical analyses on water and other samples to ensure high-quality results.
  • Recording and checking test results in the company’s databases.
  • Performing and documenting quality control checks on analytical tests.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, instruments, and test kits to ensure they remain in excellent working condition.
  • Following Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) practices and maintaining good housekeeping principles in the workplace.

Why You Should Apply

This programme offers far more than just experience — it offers a career foundation. Rand Water is a respected organization with a long history of developing skilled professionals who go on to make meaningful contributions in the science and water sectors.

Participants will gain a deep understanding of how laboratory work supports water purification, testing, and safety across communities. You’ll also build confidence working alongside experienced scientists and technicians who are passionate about what they do.
