Position Overview

Steve Biko Academic Hospital is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in a logistics-related role. The successful candidate will be responsible for various warehouse tasks, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently according to the hospital’s standards and procedures.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Binning

Organize and place incoming merchandise into the appropriate bins according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Replenish stock from bulk to pick locations.

Ensure all new products are assigned to the correct bin location in the warehouse.

Update supervisors on bin location changes and stock allocation updates.

Assist in stock replenishment as needed.

Picking

Ensure customer and branch orders are picked promptly to meet order cut-off times.

Only pick from bulk locations as an alternative when stock is depleted or when handling bulk orders.

Follow all relevant procedures to enhance customer satisfaction.

Assist with stock take and daily housekeeping.

Perform double checks to maintain customer satisfaction and prevent inventory loss.

Consistently achieve set operational targets.

Issue scanners to operators daily.

Book scanners out on the electronic app and ensure they are inspected upon return.

Report any scanner damage to the supervisor.

Complete daily scanner issue spreadsheets.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent with Literacy and Numeracy skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of spares, motor, or engine parts is an advantage.
- Familiarity with warehouse systems and procedures.
