What Does a Pick n Pay Cashier Do?
As a cashier at Pick n Pay, your main responsibility is to handle customer transactions quickly and accurately. You’ll use the Point of Sale (POS) system to scan items, process payments, give change, and print receipts. It’s more than just ringing up sales—you’ll help keep the checkout area neat, handle customer questions, and even suggest additional products and services when appropriate.

Operate the Till: You’ll be responsible for managing the float and making sure the till and scanner work perfectly. Whether it’s cash, credit, or vouchers, you’ll handle every transaction with precision and speed.
Provide Excellent Customer Service: Your role isn’t just about processing payments—it’s about interacting with customers and making their shopping experience smooth and pleasant. You’ll answer any queries they might have with a friendly attitude.
Maintain Cleanliness: Keeping your workstation tidy and adhering to the hygiene and housekeeping standards is a key part of the role. This ensures a professional and safe working environment for both you and your customers.
Uphold Security: You’ll also help protect the store’s assets by following all security procedures and preventing wastage, shrinkage, and damages.
